Two names added to Hollywood Liberals’ shit list: Gary Sinise & Craig T. Nelson

sinisehlslAn occasional round-up of who’s not liberal in Tinsel Town.

I confess, I am the type of person who takes great joy in watching Republicans who call themselves “defenders of traditional marriage” getting SO BUSTED and copping to having extramarital affairs. Last week it was Nevada’s Republican  Senator John Ensign.

Today it was South Carolina’s Republican Governor Mark Sanford explaining that he wasn’t hiking on the Appalachian Trail when he went missing last week, as his staff told the media. Instead he was skipping down the Treasure Trail in Argentina attending to a year long extramarital affair.

Pam’s House Blend noticed that within an hour of Sanford’s press conference about spilling his beans, the Values Voters Summit, a conservative organization, had already removed his photo from its web site.

So now when you look at it, Sanford is gone, but not people like Sarah Palin, Bill O’Reilly, Carrie Prejean and– GARY SINISE?!

And last week I watched Craig T. Nelson commiserating with Sean Hannity on Fox News.

Hollywood Liberals, take note!

  1. Hey Chal, IIRC this isn’t your first post about Hollywood Liberals’ “shit list”. Can you please just call it “Chal’s shit list”? Do you really think Hollywood liberals are so ignorant and stupid that they “shit list” all Republicans?

And seriously, is every Republican in whatever industry you work in on your own shit list? Don’t you have any Republican friends? I worry about you, Chal.

Also, how exactly does this post establish that Gary Sinise has been “added” to a list of Republicans? Haven’t his beliefs been known for a while? This post should really be titled “OMG I just found out Gary Sinise is a Republican!”

  2. TUA, I checked the admin page and there is no comment from you on the master list for that post.

Did it show up and then disappear? Do you want to try reposting it?

So you know, comments are not moderated. They go directly up on to the site. I’m sorry yours got lost in cyberspace.

  3. I hate to break it to you but politics have played a big role in Hollywood since way back in the day. To this day there are still hard feelings among those left with regards to the McCarthy period. People draw lines in the sand over all kinds of things.

    Chal didn’t invent the behavior,

  4. Yeah, that Gary Sinise is a real asshole.

He runs multiple charities for both our troops (Operation Gratitude) and the Iraqi people (Operation Iraqi Children) not to mention playing countless USO shows (Lt. Dan Band) all over the globe.

    Typical Republican.

And people laugh when we Hollywood conservatives talk about meeting together in secret.

In regards to the Sanford photo…why in the hell would they *want* to leave it up? I’m sure democrat organizations did the same with John Edwards’ photo.

    Talk about a no-brainer.

Thankfully my liberal bosses aren’t so thin-skinned that they feel they must “take note” of my political thoughtcrimes or I’d be out of a job.

BTW, I’ve met Gary and he’s the real deal and one hell of a nice guy.

Besides…any friend of Malkovich (who by the way is also a *gasp* conservative) is a friend of mine.

  5. Forgot to mention Eduardo Verástegui ….he actually made me swoon.

    What a sweetieheart.

  6. @UGLY: While I admire GS for supporting our troops woefully fighting this war that Republicans lied us into, he still stays on the HLSL for his association with the Values Voters Summit. Look at their loony web site. On the agenda for their clusterfuck in DC this September: “Break out sessions” on subjects such as:

    * SPEECHLESS – SILENCING THE CHRISTIANS (I recently posted about this laughable, homophobic infomercial that ran in LA.)

    * DEFUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD ( These nuts call it “the controversial abortion corporation.”)

    * MARRIAGE: WHY IT’S WORTH DEFENDING AND HOW REDEFINING IT THREATENS RELIGIOUS LIBERTY “Redefining marriage poses serious threats to the religious liberties of people who continue to believe that marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman.” Blah-dee-fucking-blah. If they don’t like the idea of same-sex marriage then don’t marry someone of the same sex.

    * THE NEW MASCULINITY (Seriously, this is really what they’re calling this one. PERFECT for Sanford, Ensign, Vitters and other hypocritical do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do Republicans) “Feminism has wreaked havoc on marriage, women, children and men. It is time to redress the disorder it has wrought and that must start with getting the principles and ideals for a new “masculinism” right. Such a “masculinism” will have its dovetailing counterpart in a new “feminism” for they mutually define each other and, in nature, are meant to be complimentary. This panel will begin this exploration.”

    –break here for laughter–

    * WAIT NO MORE: FINDING FAMILIES FOR WAITING KIDS ( I would wager any amount this one is a veiled call to ban same-sex couples from adopting, which is further down the list of goals of the wingnuts but already a reality in some of the lesser red shit-bucket states.)

Yes, these are the views that Sinise is associating himself with. This easily qualifies him for inclusion on the HLSL, but I will move him down a few notches due to the support he has given to our troops and for being nice to you.

But Ugs, maybe you’re as amused and repulsed by the VVS as me? Are you a social/cultural liberal or libertarian? Vote with your wallet? Raised by hippies and this is your rebellion?

FYI: Republicans coined the term “Hollywood liberal” in an attempt to intimidate well known show biz types into not voicing opinions they disagreed with. I have appropriated their term and amuse myself by throwing it back in their faces, because you know– blogs, free speech, etc.

@OREN: Do I have any friends who are Republicans? My boyfriend’s aunt is a Republican. Does that count? And thanks, sweet of you to worry about me, but I’m doing just fine in my San Francisco Values world :)
