Don’t forget, folks, that the idea here is “Classic Eats.” As in “classic Los Angeles eateries.” I’m not sure that Johnny Rocket’s in Pasadena really fits the bill.

I don’t mean to speak out of turn, but I know the area; here are some other possibilities for pasadena:
Barney’s Ltd. near Barnes and Noble on Colorado (NOT BARNEY’S BEANERY, never again!): tons of great beers, great apps and walkable to
Johnny Rockets burgers at Miller’s Alley, which is about ten feet from
Sushi Roku, which I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about and is kind of posh, but is very close to
The 35er, which is a raunchy, loud fun place for a beer and game of pool.
It’s at the far end of Colorado, but we could carpool?

And I’d like to just correct one thing: Yeah…Burger Continental. The food is, well, fair, for the most part. But they have a full bar, great French Fries, Pita and hummus, and fer cripes sake- they have a LIVE BELLY DANCER. Maybe snack and drink at BC, then Burger and Pie at, you know, Pie and Burger?

Pasadena is great, but you hafta throw out more than just P&B. Burger Continental is right there, and it has belly dancing!- too bad it ‘s 90% crap.
If we have another venue for Pasadena, I’ll consider it…but right now, I’m hoping for Old Hollywood Cocktails (that’s gonna be a pricey night…)

Mr. Hooks, I’m with you. Though I’ve never had durian….

BTW — hot dog death march is currently in the lead (as of 4:33pm on Wednesday 3/18)

They all sound good, but I am still intrigued by (and terrified of) Oki-Dog. It’s like the durian of the fast food world – despite the horror stories, you just don’t know for sure until you try it.

Then again, durian really tasted as bad as it smelled…
