Ken Garduno’s Channels exhibit opened on Saturday at Black Maria Gallery in Atwater Village. That’s him in the first photo. When asked which piece he wanted to be photographed next to, he gestured to a somber work called “Widow,” saying, “Let’s use this one, since I usually don’t work large.”
Garduno, a freelance illustrator, is a Hollywood native and a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. His illustrations have appeared in LA Weekly, Pasadena Weekly, LA City Beat, Village Voice, Texas Monthly and others.
In addition to his current exhibition at Black Maria, he has exhibited at Project Gallery in Culver City; at Los Angeles galleries Thinkspace and Gallery 1988; as well as San Francisco’s Gallery 1988, Atticus Gallery in Barcelona and Art Basel Miami 2007 and 2008.
