At least there will always be choice there. Personally, I've switched to listening to podcasts and music via my ipod, so radio is 100% useless for me. The way I see radio (terrestrial and satellite), it's time is limited - just like analog tv. AWESOME.. the more radio stations move to the one true format (can you smell the sarcasm?), the more people will move to SiriusXM and keep that beast afloat. At least there will always be choice there.

Talk radio made you think, you formed your own opinions whether you agreed or not; it was stimulating your brain more then "pop" music could ever do. Is big brother helping us become mindless robots? I was a fan of indie, mostly because they brought a sense of individualism to an already conformed media. Now with this news::I will definitely be looking for radio alternatives. It never felt the same once they replaced Steckler with Whitman. And while I wasn't a fan of 97.1 FM Talk overall, it does upset me to think of all the unemployed folks this format change will create.
