The traffic frequently backs up there as drivers yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. An impatient person took exception to being delayed by such courtesies, so he issued a strong diagnostic message to the driver in front of him, using his horn. He did not see the LAPD car in his left hand blind spot, but the police officer certainly heard and saw him. I mean, how could he have missed it :) All those on the corner applauded as the cop turned on his lights, and with the windows open, the cop knew that we appreciated his presence.
