There may be no “need”, but I can’t see anything illegal or that violates Pepperdine’s non-profit status, which appears to be what the argument is based on.

I disagree wholeheartedly here. His identification as a Pepperdine professor is not any more inappropriate than when an elected or law enforcement official is identified as the supporter of a politician or bill. In neither case does it make it appear that the whole local government or police are on either side.

I wholeheartedly disagree with your disagreeing wholeheartedly. There’s no need to identify him as anything other than “Professor of Law.”

However, Pepperdine should look into whether or not they want a lawyer who is lying to the public to be teaching their students.

Further evidence that Pepperdine cannot distance itself from Prop 8 and claim neutrality (from their student handbook):

“Pepperdine University affirms that sexual relationships are designed by God to be expressed solely within a marriage between husband and wife.” *

When contacting the news media, IRS and franchise tax board – bring this to their attention.

How about some calls to the IRS and Franchise Tax Board and explain to them this stand should warrant immediate revocation of their tax exempt non-profit status?

The only identifier need for the man is “law professor” to establish his qualifications.
