Berta, 6-8 hours is nothing. Did you ever have to do the full two weeks of sitting? I have, twice! The one day/one trial thing is such a relief.

And Mr. 8 Track Kid, I’m sorry it didn’t turn out like you wanted. Same for me last time I served, but at least I got to sit next to Selma Hayek.

Hah! I ‘outed’ for years from serving based on caring for my husband. They got me last year so I let my imagination run with thoughts of some big case that I would give my all tooooo…..I sat, and I sat and was told that I too was done for the year! It pisses me off to know that 6 to 8 hours of my life was held “on hold” when I could just as well used that same time at home arguing with the hubby!

I served as foreperson for a frivolous lawsuit. I still smoked at the time and we would be deliberating and I’d be like “We’re taking a cigarette break now!” and of course, no one else smoked. They all hated me. Fun times. Not like a TV drama. Maybe if MTV does a reality jury show. More like that.

I LOVED jury duty. Our case was like a tv drama, so exciting, and I did make a great friend. I call her Juror 5 and she calls me Juror 4.
