Keightly and Panasonic: You know about Carmelita Avenue aka "Beverly Hills Bike Boulevard," right? It arcs a block north of Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny and Wilshire and provides the perfect calm and quiet counterpoint ride to the hell that as Satan Monica Boulevard. Check it:

I'm also fond of the Olympic corridor when I pedal to the sea. Haven't been out there in a while.

Oh man, feverblue. I hate that section of Santa Monica too. But then the bike lane after that is sooooooo wonderful.

Maybe someday there will be a good bike path along the LA river so I could ride from the Valley all the way to downtown.

Me too! Oh, except for the stretch of Santa Monica between Doheny and Wilshire. I'm not fond of that one.

You know all those green squiggly green lines representing Class IIIs, most likely indicated on-street by those BIKE ROUTE signs that might have seemed a good idea at the time back during the cold war when the only people who rode bikes were paperboys and circus clowns? Yeah, I effing HATE those things. It's the equivalent of posting signs suggesting certain sections of air are available to breath.

The whole city and every damn surface street is my bike route, baby!
