No hissing. When we lived in Hollywood there was a huge one that would hang out with my husband at night. This one I think is scavenging whatever crumbs my children dropped through the day. The photo above was taken after it had discovered a bag of trash in that spot the night before. The bag was only there for 5 minutes, but it goes there on the off-chance there'll be another bag waiting.

Sorry to hear about that unfavourable development. And I am glad to hear that you are nevertheless getting better.
So, does the opossum hiss at all? Or does it wait for a handout? I would imagine that, like the wave of snakes, coyotes and other creatures driven from the hills (I hear from many folk in Pasadena and the rest of the Foothills about the dramatic increase as the heat wears on), it is in search of water as well as food and respite.

Thanks...I just went to Jack in the Box and had to go inside. Everyone stared at me like I was a leper. :( Maybe I should play possum, though I'm kinda wishing for a hedgehog so I use it to scratch. This is worse than chicken pox.

Opossums love you for you, Fab! They don't care about allergies or rashes. Glad you're on the mend!
