Maybe it’s just me but jac blooms always look more vibrant on overcast days than on bright and sunny ones.

Where I went to high school they bloomed through May as well and that meant "school's almost out!" That feeling of joyous freedom still bubbles up when I seem them blooming. Same thing with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agapanthus" rel="nofollow">Agapanthus</a>--same color, same bloom schedule. Oh the Jacaranda!
