I see a lot of people with LA tattoos, most of them meatheads that will never experience anything outside of the city, maybe just a few weekend trips to Las Vegas. It’s a pretty crappy looking tat, but worst is the assumption this person makes they will always be into this city. It’s like getting a tat of your favorite band of the moment; destined to irrelevancy.

Perhaps, though I consider myself fairly well traveled and have lived all over the country and Los Angeles is the first place I’ve ever been that feels like home. No matter where I go, the minute I get back here I know why I live here. When I get my LA tattoo (which won’t be like the above) it won’t be because I don’t know what else is out there, but rather so when I’m out there I know where my heart is.
