An Angeleno In North Carolina

Just a base-toucher as I’ve been in exile in the city of Charlotte these last four days on a biz trip and I just gotta say I can’t wait to get home — especially in the wake of the tornado-spawning conditions yesterday with a whole bunch of lighting, thunder, torrential rain, dime-sized hail and widely fluxing air temps.

Along the way, though I did have the opportunity to experience a couple southern institutions that for whatever various reasons and excuses are rare in the L.A. area. Namely, I savored my first cuppa Dunkin’ Donuts joe, and fuckyeahdang it’s mighty good. Second I ventured tentatively through the hooked-on-phonics of a Chick-Fil-A drive-through and good it was not.

Who’s up for a bike ride tomorrow?

  1. I beg to differ MA. There are locations in Long Beach and Cerritos also. Closest one to my home is not close at all in Oxnard. I love me some Chick-Fil-A.

  2. Last time I was in North Cackalacky, there was a Klan rally at city hall to commemorate Martin Luther King day. Quite a scary scene. Yet, I do love me some Waffle House.

  3. Mmmm, waffle house… I’ll take me some hash browns scattered smothered covered chunked diced topped peppered…
