Archiving Angeles (AA): Editing North Hollywood

You think you’re pretty slick, don’t you? You and your MacBook Pro with Final Cut. Uploading your viral videos to YouTube. Yeah, you’re pretty damned creative there, Billy. But you ain’t exactly breaking any new ground. Cal Lewin was a cuttin’ and splicin’ 13-year-old filmmaker before you were even a fetus. He was kickin’ it old school in NoHo. Best recognize.

The year was 1965.

  1. I knew that guy at Carpenter Avenue School! He sat across from me in third grade. Looked just about the same. He was hilariously funny. His science project was a device that demonstrated the binary number system of computers which was pretty advanced stuff in 1959. Thanks for the illustrated flashback.
