Bromike has the right idea...save a ton of money and all nonessential services...ie not police cars or fire trucks on duty they have to take public transportation.

Do that and I'd bet the pressure would be on fast to get a light rail centered transit up and running really fast.

The L.A. Sheriff already promotes itself on the ass of its diesel therapy (prisoner transport) buses. Why not sell the space?

Too, why not make every L.A. City Council member be branded on the forehead with a spot advertising the firm who gives them the largest bri—, er, contribution, and raise the limit? Once that precedent is set, then each councilmember's entire body could be made available, with half the funds going to make up for the inevitable budget cuts that allow for the personal motor vehicles that they insist are required for they and their sundry staff.

Former LAPD'er Dennis Zine might consider ad space on his former colleagues' handcuffs, batons and officers' helmets. After all, those particular items tend to be on the news rather frequently.

Why not just stop wasting our tax dollars? Lets start with all city employees losing their tax funded autos and taking public transportation to get around while at work? The benefits?

1. It'll save 150 million easy.
2. Less fumes in the air.
3. Healthier city employees, less health care costs.
4. It'll force them to fix the transportation problems.
5. It'll inspire residents to use the transportation system.
6. It'll remove about 50,000 cars from the city streets.

It's a win - win x 3
