Hey speaking of rent prices, I saw a link on Bargain Hunter for a cool site: http://www.rentometer.com

You can enter an address and rent, and it compares it to the rent of other nearby properties! Turns out I'm getting a bargain on my Burbank pad.

Nice load, Cutter.

Now, if the House of Pies' lousy food (and I am too familiar with that place; did you know that it usta be owned by Edie Sedgwick's grandmother, who was portrayed as such in "Ciao Manhattan"?) were to get together with the horrendous service of Fred 62 (across the street), it would take an hour to get a crappy grilled cheese sandwich and soggy fries.

As for the escalators and trains on the Metro, yes, people here are in dire need of a thrashing of common sense. I get the stink-eye on a daily basis because I use the escalator as something that helps me move faster, not just move. Some people think its a ride, others are just ignorant, but many of them seem to think that we who wish to move rather than be moved, are out of line. And on exiting trains, I have had to blare "Yer not gettin' on until we get out!" a number of times. I cannot understand why some people think they are going to get on and not let us off. Chipped more than a few shoulders since I have been here, when the warning shot fails to split the sheep crowded at the door ready to push in before the doors are even finished opening.

Pass on the left, stand on the right! When I rode the trains to work, I was daily in the vicinity of one man who would yell as he climbed the escalators "Passing on the left" at the top of his lungs. He was great, I could just surf along in his wake.

Funny you bring up the escalator etiquette thing, in London at the tube stations they have reminders all over "slower stand right" so all the escalator runners can make a clear dash. I love the signs outlining what should be common sense.
