Michael Walker, author of “Laurel Canyon: The Inside Story of Rock and Roll’s Legendary Neighborhood,” writes on his blog about Heath Ledger’s move to a home in the Laurel Canyon area:
The house is set back from the road and sports a covered outdoor terrace probably 80 feet long–perfect for entertaining. And indeed when Ledger moved in he hosted a housewarming blowout with the traditional festivities and attendant cars, noise, etc. The neighbors cringed, wondering what they were in for. The next morning, one of them told me, Ledger stopped by with a bottle of champagne, full of apologies. Nice guy.
Walker is probably referring to “The Treehouse” at 8010 Woodrow Wilson Dr., home Ledger and Michelle Williams purchased in June 2006 from Ellen DeGeneres. Walker adds that on Tuesday evening “a bouquet had been laid discreetly by the front gate.”
