He’s only been up for a few days but Chicken Boy is quickly regaining his strength and will soon enough rule the roost of LA cultural icons. He lost his old Downtown home on Broadway some years ago (no doubt due to gentrification) but I think he will adapt fine to his Northeast LA home of Highland Park, hopefully he gets to stay put for awhile. I went by HLP today and stopped by to take a look, he’s much smaller than I remember but I guess I was much smaller as well all those years ago. Oh wait, that’s not him..

..ah, there he is! He’s all grown up into a big Chicken Man! Notice how he doesn’t even need thumbs to hold up his gigantic bucket; that is one buff bird, surely capable of taking on the twinkled toed clown ballerina that’s trying to pick a fight over at View from a Loft. That payaso has no idea of CB’s power.

Since I’m the proud owner of a CB velvet painting, you know where my allegiances will be if a rumble breaks out. I got your back, gallito!

I’m glad Chicken Boy is no longer advertising for a fried chicken restaurant, I can’t condone cannibalism. Now it sits atop of Future Studios, open by appointment or during one of the art walks, inside they carry some fine CB merchandise.

Pay him a visit! 5558 N. Figueroa St. in Highland Park. Near Ave. 55
