Hankering for pumpkin guts

Can anyone tell me where I can find a pumpkin patch that is already open? I know Trader Joes, Ralphs, and other grocery stores are selling gourds, but I’m looking for a mom and pop patch, preferably in the Hollywood area.

If you can steer me in the right direction, I’ll save some pumpkin seeds for you.

  1. It’s not exactly close to Hollywood but there’s one on the corner of Sunset and Temescal Canyon in the Palisades. (Prententious Pumpkin Patching) If it’s pumpkin seeds your after, Trader Joe’s sells pepitas with the guts already cleaned off.

  2. Then the farmers market is always another choice.

    My suggestion, too.

Also, if you don’t mind taking a drive out to Moorpark, you can pick your own.

BTW, they stage a Civil War Reenactment here every year in November…of which I just so happen to be a participant.

  3. Across from Farmer’s Market – Fairfax & 3rd. They’re setting up the decorations as I type this. Not sure when the truck with the pumpkins will get here. They usually have a pretty good selection in all shapes and sizes and is conveniently located across the street from my place of employment…

  4. There’s a pumpkin patchy place open in North Hollywood on Riverside and either Lankershim or Cahuenga. They’ve had a bunny hutch there in years past, which makes it a nice place to take kids.
