Look, up in the air! It’s a Ditty Bops ticket contest!

This Saturday, July 28th, The Ditty Bops kick off their “Summer Farm Tour” at the Music Box Theatre in true Hollywood fashion: with a concert and an unveiling of their 2008 “Save the World Bikini Calendar”.

Their 2006 Bicycle Calendar featured the girls posing cheesecake style with their bikes… the 2007 Calendar found them wearing nothing but vegetables. If the cover of this year’s poster is any indication, the 2008 calendar may be photos of the Bops wearing superhero costumes.

For your chance to win a pair of tickets to Saturday night’s show: Leave a comment with your email address and which superhero costumes you’re hoping to see the The Ditty Bops model in bikini fashion. A winner will be chosen at random.

Entry period closes 3pm Thursday. Winner will be notified by that evening.

The Ditty Bops are saving who? For the Summer Farm Tour, this socially responsible duo will be playing traditional shows along with benefit concerts across the country for local farm organizations such as “The Growing Connection” and “Farm Aid”. They also promise to blog the tour.

Earlier this year, “The Bops” created their own environmental non-profit called “You and I Save the World”. Their first initiative was a “Plastic Reduction Petition”, where they encouraged their fans to ditch the plastic and begin using reusable bags.

But if the eco-friendly thing isn’t your bag (plastic or otherwise), still give them a listen. The Bops music runs the gamut from folk to swing to jazz to bubblegum fun. And they sound even better performing in bikinis.

  1. Since it doesn’t seem to matter which costumes we mention…I’ll say 4-Legged Man (of the Civic-Minded Five) and Sewer Urchin, both from The Tick.

  2. Hmmm… I think Amanda should don the “Green Arrow” outfit and Abby should go for the “Thor” get-up, cape and all. Of course they would both have to be modified to fit the Bikini theme. I was going to say Howard the Duck but then I remembered that he didn’t wear any pants. Not that would mind of course…

  3. I’d like to see Abby as Phyta the Compost Girl: earth toned bikini with a black plastic bag cape, garden fork and gloves. Amanda should be Recycla the Conservator: grocery sack bikini, calf-high newspaper boots, soda can utility belt and cape made from packing peanuts stitched together.
