justice catches, and pulls ahead of stupid spoiled rich whore

Dear little baby Jesus, who’s sittin’ in his crib watchin the Baby Einstein videos, learnin’ ’bout shapes and colors, thank you so much for ending HILTONWATCH!!11

TMZ.com reports that Paris Hilton has been ordered back to jail to serve out the rest of her sentence, medical conditions be damned.

Paris Hilton was just ordered back to jail in Lynwood to serve out the remainder of her sentence! She’ll get credit for at least 5 days already served.

Media attention should turn to the morons who decided to treat this spoiled rich whore differently than anyone else who would face jail time, but it will most likely focus on the sideshow aspects, in full-on Schadenfreude-o-Vision.

I’ve been working all morning, and listening to The Cure is much more conducive to actual work than listening to local news, but my mom called earlier and told me that cable news broke away from G8 coverage to do an OJ-style chopper chase of the Sheriff driving the stupid spoiled rich whore back to court.

While the coverage is retarded, at least the medical condition of being a rich, white celebrity has been (temporarily) pulled out of the pile of get out of jail free cards . . . for the moment. Apparently, stupid spoiled rich whore is going to appeal. After already being convicted and sentenced. Brilliant.

I think Harvey Levin is going to buy a new boat before this is all over.

3 o’clock afterthought: Valley Jew expresses quite eloquently why so many people are cheering about this:

In the reality-created world of the last six years, I’ve often felt like our lives had been taken over by a Joe Millionaire/ Vince-McMahon/ WWE-type logic where motivations are so clearly obvious that the only goal of the whole shitty endeavor was to keep idiots tuning in . . . [P]erhaps this is a sign that people are tired of making excuses for the over privileged just because we’d like to be over privileged one day ourselves. Perhaps we will now value some sort of accountability for ourselves and others.

I think the Jew is on to something there. There’s a growing sense of plutocracy fatigue from those of us in the great unwashed masses, and this little episode seemed to touch that nerve rather forcefully.

  1. Man…the media circus continues. What you didn’t give us Wil was the fact she arrived in court a totally disheveled mess, and contrary to prior reporte the judge NEVER gave permission for her to appear via telephone. MSN had a nice article on it.
I can’t wait for that other train wreck, Lohan to try to top this one!

  2. Yeah, and apparently she was physically taken from the courtroom, screaming.

I wonder what she was screaming? Something like, “I’m rich and famous! Don’t you people know that I’m above the law!?”

  3. At some point the coverage needs to return to Baca. This corrupt, celebrity-struck, scientologist-shill is not fit to hold office in this city. He is simply incapable of performing his duties. He serves a different master than the people of Los Angeles and must therefore be removed.

  4. (oh, and can I mention that I’ve been really hoping for a good Sean Bonner anti-Baca tirade for a couple days now. My fingers are still crossed.)

  5. Yeah I couldn’t care less about PH, she’s just some useless brat who is the inevitable result of rich, indulgent parents. The authorities who’d coddle this crap are the people who really deserve our scorn and attention.

  6. The latest is that she’s apparently planning to appeal the decision.

The big part of this whole thing, as I see it, is how the Sheriff’s Dept. has repeatedly screwed with the judge. If the oh-so-reliable TMZ reports are true, Baca and company didn’t file the motion they promised before releasing her, then refused to pick her us this morning, saying the judge had no authority to haul her ass into court. That went over well will the man in the black robe. The best part of the court vs. Sheriff thing is the judge saying he didn’t know about the plan to “reassign” her until he heard it on the radio.

So next up: Send Baca to the hoosegow.

  7. I wonder if I should send her instructions on how to make a shank for protection and homebrew to party in the joint.

  8. The city/county/courts politics on this is the best part, and luckily that aspect of the whole thing is getting coverage too (though you’ll have to sift through the “Day 13: The food still sucks” type of coverage to find it. Baca and co. are powerful, but don’t dismiss the rest of the sane civic world that slapped him down.

  9. Okay, it might be fun to trash this dumb girl and use the phrase, “stupid rich white whore” (or variants thereof) as many times as possible, but your analysis bears no relationship to reality. In LA County, all sentences under 90 days are automatically suspending for overcrowding. They are credited with having served and sent home. Some convicted of more serious offenses, which nonetheless are subject to short sentences, may be detained and “transferred” to house arrest, which was the case with the SRWW Paris Hilton. The fact that she is being sent back to jail is virtually unprecedented.

So, while your coverage is amusing, and frankly I see the appeal of using the phrase SRWW over and over again, the fact is that she is actually been penalized for her celebrity rather than benefitting from it. That’s the actual truth here.

Which doesn’t make it all any less amusing.

  10. I’m no fan of Ms. Hilton’s by any stretch, although I hold a grudging admiration for her high-level manipulation of the media to create personal wealth.

And clearly, there is some justifiable indignation here regarding the difference in treatment for the privileged and the not-so-much.

Yet I can’t help thinking: is this the best we can do when it comes to being roused to anger? I mean, I’m preaching to the choir here on b.la, where we get roused about a broad spectrum of heinousness. But isn’t there something a little scary about a nation of people who will rise up and condemn a savvy/stupid-but-ultimately-insignificant pimple on the butt of our assiness with such vigor and purpose when there are so many other, worthier targets of evil?

I’m as delighted as anyone that she’s back in the pokey, but criminy, does there have to be quite so much zeal and hoopla surrounding it?

  11. HILTONWATCH!!1, by its very definition, absolutely requires hype and hoopla and zeal. If you think this is bad, just wait until LOHANWATCH!!!1111

Anon makes an interesting and valid point. My outrage yesterday was not that SRWW was released early (I entirely agree about overcrowding, and imprisonment of non-violent offenders) but that she was apparently released for just being so darn unhappy that she had to go to big bad jail. If it had been about overcrowding, I wouldn’t have even posted about it, but anything that gives the appearance of unequal treatment for the rich and famous over the great unwashed rest of us makes me stabby.

And let’s not forget: DUI puts lives at risk. This isn’t someone smoking a joint at home or not paying parking tickets. DUI is a serious offense.

  12. At least this in-out of jail thing has turned this affair from a silly celebrity story to one that brings some light to the issue of a very skewed legal system that favors those with money, fame, or adequate representation.
And if we’re lucky, maybe we can get Gerald to give us a good recipe for Pruno!

  13. Ok…now for the silly trivia…El Chavo needs to give us an exacting recipe for “pruno”.

  14. If it’s true that she was simply sent home because of overcrowding, then why wasn’t that given as a reason? Before she went in the first time, it was announced that she would only be serving half of her 45 day sentence. I never heard anybody say she’d only serve 3 (or is that 5?) days before release. Also, do other DUI convicts who violate the terms of her probation twice get released after such a short period of time? All I ever wanted was for her to be treated as other similar criminals, and vice versa. That doesn’t seem to be the case here.

  15. What evidence, that she “dates around” (or what have you) like her male counterparts do? Be sure to label her a whore because she appears to sleep around more than you feel a woman ought to? Women should be ladies and public and “whores” in the bedroom (for their husbands only of course), right?

  16. I’m with pomo femme…whore is misleading, she never charges for her favors, rather she’s pretty free and easy from what pop culture myths tend to put out. pun intended.

  17. according to x17online, paris had a big party planned for herself tonight. this was while she was still under ‘house arrest’, which, as i understand doesnt allow visitors.
the link to the article on x17online was huge so i made a smaller one:
    http://tinyurl.com/yq3lo7

for some reason i get the feeling this whole 3 day jail stay & get out was planned. way in advance. baca didnt think the judge would find out what he did until weeks later. too late.

  18. “Manipulation of the media to create personal wealth…” Are you freakin’ kidding me!? She’s heiress to a billion dollar fortune. Baron Hilton created his grand-daughter’s wealth. Get a grip.

  19. “Manipulation of the media to create personal wealth…” Are you freakin’ kidding me!? She’s heiress to a billion dollar fortune. Baron Hilton created his grand-daughter’s wealth. Get a grip.

A billion dollars? Try $30 million. It’s a lot of money, but it’s far from a billion. And if you think she’s doing things like The Simple Life for any reason besides money and fame you’re the one that needs to get a grip.

  20. And you need a reading comprehension class. I didn’t say she would inherit all the family’s money, which is nearing a billion dollars, depending on which estimate you look at. She’ll inherit a portion. But her “media manipulation” is about ego and fame, not the money. She’s not that smart.
