Open house at your local Fire Station this Saturday

May 8, 2007 at 5:50 pm in LA

station6.jpgNow seems as good a time as ever to mention that this Saturday is L.A.’s Fire Services Recognition Day, and from 10am to 4pm your neighborhood fire station invites you to come take a peek inside, enjoy a tour, and hang out. (click here to find the station nearest you).

Additional activities, including displays of “equipment, apparatus and procedures”, will be held at select stations, such as the one in Hollywood, also home to the LAFD Museum, that will also be having a pancake breakfast for visitors.

Better yet, its a great excuse to stop by and thank the men and women of the LAFD for putting their own lives at risk to keep the rest of us safe and making our Fire Department one of the best in the nation.

…Selfishly, we recommend you check out the open house at Fire Station 20 (2144 W. Sunset in Echo Park) before or after coming to the Blogging.la garage sale (also being held Saturday only one mile away)… photo by Thomas Hawk, used under Creative Commons
