NBC4.tv reports that Biohazard Materials Prompt Closure Of SB 405 Freeway In Van Nuys

The southbound San Diego (405) Freeway was closed Tuesday in Van Nuys after about three dozen medical biohazard bags were found on the roadway, authorities said. The southbound freewasy was closed at Victory Boulevard about 1:30 p.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball. Caltrans crews were sent to clean up the materials, Kimball said. Authorities were unsure of the origin of the bags, and no traffic accident was reported in the area, Kimball said.
