Did you know that a that 2 of the 5 tattoo artists featured on The Learning Channel’s Miami Ink are actually based here in LA? It’s true, both Chris Garver and Kat Von D (who did this amazing Gene Wilder) live in LA and work at True Tattoo in Hollywood (1614 N. Cahunega). I think Chris might be one of the owners of that shop. I stumbled across this when I was looking for a recommendation for a friend looking to get some new work done and was actually kind of psyched since I know from the show at at least those two are fantastic tattooists. The True Tattoo website has some weird plugin issues so I wasn’t able to check out the other artists who work there but it’s probably a pretty safe bet that they are worth checking out.
