About those rapes…

I know that the LAPD has been busy with fixing all those broken windows, and I totally support that, especially in my neighborhood where those little crimes escalate into squalor and chaos. This still doesn’t excuse them from not processing the 5,000 rape kits they’ve collected over the past few years. I know the LAPD has limited resources for processing these kits, and I applaud the DOJ for hiring 20 new forensics processing employees, but they really need to step up the effort.

Maybe there is some kind of automation that could be done to process these kits. I mean we completed the Human Genome project years ahead of schedule, why can’t we process these DNA tests in a reasonable amount of time.
