Los Feliz Is Not Under Attack (or, that what dreams are NOT made of )

Dear Low Flying Planes:

Thank you so much for buzzing my ‘hood at 8:00 this morning. Not like anybody was up late or anything. My 9-11 paranoia and my hangover thank you as well.

Please get yourselves back to your Van Halen video as soon as possible.

Love,
Jay

  1. Howdy,

Those planes were two F-22 fighter jets and the B-2 Bomber doing their opening run for the Rose Parade. It happens every year.

    Enjoy,

    Big Mo

  2. I don’t care if it happens every year. As someone who lived in Brooklyn on 9/11/01, the last thing I wanted to do first thing on the first day of the year is rush to the TV to see what horrible event awaits.

Oh stop being so dramatic. There shouldn’t be a flyover at the Rose Parade b/c it brings back bad memories and upsets YOU? You’re not in Brooklyn. Get over yourself. Geez.

  4. I thought the same thing. I really did go turn on the TV to see if anything was going on, as there’s no mistaking military fighter jets flying low over your house. :)

  5. wow, I was in Manhattan that day and the planes here yesterday didn’t wake me up. Only thing can wake me up is my cat begging for food. Had I been awake, I would have been freaked out. It’s scary. But this is my 5th New Year’s Day in the neighborhood and I don’t recall ever hearing those planes. But then, I sleep through earthquakes too.

  6. I have to say, it scared the hell out of me. I thought a plane was about to crash into my neighborhood. Not clear about where the Stealth part of it might have been.
