Menu for Hope III

December 14, 2006 at 12:18 pm in Food & Drink

menuforhopelogo.gifFood bloggers all over the world are hosting the Third Annual Menu for Hope. What is it? Simply put, it’s a raffle to raise money for the United Nations World Food Programme.

Bloggers have ponied up the prizes, which range from hampers of locally produced goodies, chocolates from all over the world, private sommelier for a night, books and more books and of course dining experiences.

The West Coast Host is Sam of Becks & Posh, who has been providing frequent updates and of course giving the lowdown on all the west coast goodies. How is this relevant to LA? There are quite a few LA bloggers that are participating by volunteering their goodies for the raffle as well as promoting the project. The virtual raffle tickets are only $10 and there are many packages that have few entries (which boosts your odds).

Most of those involved are in the Bay Area but our local donors include:
- Matt of Matt Bites with a basket of goodies from Valley Produce Company in Australia (crackers, fig/almond pyramid, chocolate panforte & truffle infused honey)
- Erin of Erin’s Kitchen with Arabesque by Claudia Roden and $25 Penzey’s Gift Certificate

You can enter for any prize, but read over the descriptions carefully to see if it can be shipped to you and/or any dates for redeeming. (No, I didn’t donate anything, but I did do a roundup of candy-themed prizes.)
