Previously, on blogging.la:
KZLA abruptly switches to dance music
XM Satellite picks up some of the slack
And now country music is back on your radio – this time on the AM dial.
I was quite honestly surprised at the number of country fans who responded to my previous posts. I know LA is a melting pot, but I wasn’t expecting the country fans. I know next to nothing about the modern country scene, as I listen more to alt.country and Gothic Americana. I think the only pop country singer I can pick out of a line-up is Dolly. That said, I appreciate country radio and prefer it to Top 40 and dance and hip hop. I like to have something in the car besides NPR, you know? And maybe, if I am very lucky, KKGO will play some Jesse Dayton.

If you’re a radio fan, you may wish to ask Santa for a subscription to Don Barrett’s LARadio.com, which closely follows the local industry.
If you’re really looking for a fun alternative to the daily grind, take a listen to Hawaiian Eye on KCSN, hosted by regular b/la visitor Michael Schneider of FranklinAvenue.net fame.
Then again… if you *really* want an alternative you can alway listen to this, where (trust me) the action never stops!

Brian — thanks for the shout out!
You are welcome Sir!
I enjoy Hawaiian Eye as often as I can, and make FranklinAvenue.net part of my daily blogLAsphere.
Aloha! …try not to picture me in a Hawaiian print shirt under my turnouts…
