Drawn and Quartered on the 13th

It’s Friday the 13th and although that happens about twice a year, October Friday the 13th are always a bigger treat. I’m drawn and quartered having to choose which event I’m going to tonight. Three super spooky possibilities include:

  • Girls and Corpses / Fright Night at the CIA in North Hollywood, 8pm to 2am $10 with all proceeds going to the Cuddle a Corpse foundation
  • Secret Art of Bleeding Spooktactular Old time show, 8pm $10 at the Velaslavasay Panorama, 1122 West 24th st. (north of USC). It promises to “be a throwback to the macabre midnight ghost shows of the 1940’s.” I’m especially intrigued by this: This building has faulty electricity so sometimes the lights go out for no reason that any electrician can explain but candles will be at the ready if need be. Call (213)746-2166 for tickets.
  • Dapper Cadaver is offering Bloody Burlesque along with Monster Music , 9pm-2am at Dapper Cadaver, 5519 Hollywood Blvd.

Choices, choices. I could also just stay home and read Call of Cthulhu or go industrial with VnV Nation at Das Bunker. What are you doing tonight? What should I do?

  1. I’m sure you could squeeze all 3 into the night, some go until 2am. tonight, I don’t really feel like going out, but all of those sound entertaining…

  2. Husband is at Universal for the opening night dealio for Halloween Horror Nights. I…put the baby to bed. Which is actually quite enjoyable, but nothing to do with Friday the 13th. I think The Art of Bleeding is the most intriguing on your list, though Bloody Burlesque sounds pretty exciting too.

  3. I’m going to VNV, of course. I encourage you to get down there if you want to go – they’re letting in people who didn’t get tickets before they sold out after 11:30
