Wanna be a scream queen?
Horror specialty shop Dark Delicacies in Burbank brings the news that After Dark Films is holding an open casting call on Friday the 13th for “Miss Horrorfest 2006”. The winner will become “the face of 8 Films To Die For, a weekend of never-before-seen terrifying films, played exclusively in 500 heatres across the United States.”
Heck, sounds like fun to just go and gawk… especially if you think girls like Elvira or Adrienne Barbeau are hot. Full details after the jump.
For everyone else, if you haven’t ever visited Dark’s, this is the month to trick or treat. They have a great slate of appearances and signings lined up for the month of October, starting off this Friday with four film composers signing CDs of their recent soundtracks including Harry Manfredini (House, Swam Thing, Jason X), Bennett Salvay (Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2), and Tyler Bates (Slither). The legendary Ray Harryhausen will be there Saturday, and Sunday will feature visits by Japanese horror director Takashi Shimizu (he’s directed both the Japanese and American versions of The Grudge series) and Dame Darcy. LOOKING FOR “MISS HORRORFEST 2006”
Are you a Screamer, a Vampiress, a Mistress Of Darkness, enjoy having the pants scared off you, do you have a Horror Fetish, or are you just a pure Gothic Princess. After Dark Films is searching for “Miss Horrorfest 2006”, wicked enough to be the face of 8 Films To Die For, a weekend of never-before-seen terrifying films, played exclusively in 500 heatres across the United States.
Courtney Solomon, Producer/Director Of “Dungeons & Dragons” as well as “An American Haunting”, starring Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek, will give each contestant up to 2 minutes to prove they truly deserves the title of “Miss Horrorfest 2006.” The winner will be crowned on Halloween and receive $50,000.00 as well as making appearances on TV & Radio and have their likeness splattered on posters and billboards around the country. Costumes, Gothic Attire and Props Welcomed – Whatever It Takes . . . all entries must be legally 18 or older.
