I first had a chance to meet and work with local performance artist Marcus Kuiland-Nazario when I was of Denise Uyehara’s “Rad Asians.” Over the years, I’ve admired many of the projects he’s worked on and since I know many blogging.la readers have attended the Sunset Junction Street Fair (both this weekend and in the past), I thought I’d post the following Call for Photos for inclusion in an upcoming exhitibition.
Participant/ Observer creative services is looking for cell phone photographs and Polaroids of the Sunset Junction Street Fair, both past and present to be exhibited at eastside studios gallery. The exhibit is entitled Sunset Junction Stories. The exhibition will open the evening of Friday September 15th as part of the 9th annual East Side Art Crawl and on display for 6 weeks. Cell phone photographs and Polaroids must be received by 5pm Friday September 1st. for consideration. Photographers will be notified via e-mail Tuesday September 5th as to whether or not their photos will be included in the show. The cell phone shots will be displayed (framed) in drawings of cell phones by critically acclaimed artist and 18th Street Arts Center resident Joe Biel. There is NO ENTRY FEE to participate in this process. This exhibition is not endorsed, sponsored or affiliated in any way with the Sunset Junction Neighborhood alliance.
