Monday, May 22 is the deadline to register to vote in the primary election in June. ABC says:
People wishing to register must be U.S. citizens and not in prison or on parole for conviction of a felony. Voters must also be at least 18 years old by election day.
Voter registration forms are available at libraries, fire stations, post offices and city clerk offices throughout Los Angeles County. The form is also available online at www.lavote.net.
You can also reach the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office at (562) 466-1310 if you have any questions about registering, or just want to hear some really awesome on-hold music.¹
This is going to be an important year for California politics, and I’m sure we’ll be banging the political drum here at blogging.la fairly frequently (because we don’t do that enough already) between now and election day — so make sure you’re registered to vote, and get out there to make your voice heard. It certainly beats the alternative of standing in front of a tank while the world ignores you.
