Give the [email protected]#cking Hoopleheads A Piece of Your Mind!

savedeadwood.gifA new f’n advertiser, Save Deadwood! is arranging a posse to rescue the TV show from impending gallows.

HBO has so far failed to exercise its options on the cast’s contracts for a fourth season of “Deadwood”. The drop dead date to do so is June 11, 2006, which is also the date on which Season Three premieres… The only chance to change this is to contact the cable companies and HBO directly and make your feelings known. Be Polite! However, if you sincerely intend to cancel HBO because of this decision, do not hesitate to make that clear.

I know enough f’n friends who cancelled f’n HBO after the end of Six Feet Under. The only reason I’ve kept it is for the long delayed start of Deadwood’s third season… alas, I’ll have no need for HBO (sorry, Bill Maher). And Los Angeles residents should be just as concerned. Besides being one of the greatest shows ever made, Deadwood is also shot in the Los Angeles County incorporated city of Santa Clarita – in short, it employs local labor that is getting desperate for work as other productions have elected to go out of state.

In addition to the f’n letter writing campaign, Save Deadwood! is also soliciting donations to post an open letter to the f’n HBO executives in both the Los Angeles and New York editions of Daily Variety.

F’n hoopleheads.

Minor Update: For the Dead(wood)head fans out there, click here for a Google satellite view of downtown Deadwood… only 1400 miles away from the real Deadwood.

  1. what are you talking about?

deadwood is uninteresting. in fact, its just straight up boring. get over yourself and your ‘dedication’ to a television show. everything has an end.

  2. Sent a nice note to HBO and this morning I was greeted with

    Thank you for writing HBO.

We appreciate your enthusiasm towards our series, “DEADWOOD”. HBO is grateful that the series has such a devoted fanbase who contributed to the show’s success and making it an Emmy/Golden Globe winning HBO original. We are incredibly proud of the series and also believe it to be a powerful and authentic piece of programming. Be assured that your
feedback is valued especially as we go forward with the upcoming third season, starting June 11th.

Despite recent articles on the future of our HBO original series “DEADWOOD”, there has been no decision for the future of the series, and conversations regarding a fourth season are ongoing. Since “DEADWOOD” creator David Milch is working on another HBO Original series, we’ve granted our beloved Deadwood cast the latitude to pursue other projects, for the time being.

Once again, thank you for your interest and we hope that you will continue to find HBO to be a source of quality entertainment.

~ Sincerely, HBO Consumer Affairs Department ~

Of course today’s LA Times says the exact opposite of this….

  3. To get HBO to adopt the practice of delivering what we HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR — by paying for each partial installment of Milch’s masterpiece –go to the website and see what you can do to help. HENG DAI HOOPLEHEADS!
