I know this isn’t a wedding resource forum, but I don’t know where else to turn and I don’t have the chutzpah to shoot my own wedding. I am looking for a Canon wielding wedding photographer in the LA area to shoot my wedding on the 9th of July. I am not as of yet rich nor famous, but I have a strongly critical eye and a need for a top notch photographer with an 85mm1.2L (preferable a Mark II) in tow to record our day of matrimony. If you know a suitable film or digitally based artist please have them shoot me an email at [email protected].

So your wedding is in the dark, yet happening at such a fast pace that the shooter must be able to shoot 8 fps with a full frame sensor. 85 f/1.4 shooters need not apply. That last half stop is a deal breaker to you, and since you want digi, not film, a Leica shooter with a Noctilux (f/1.0) isn’t going to cut it either. Talk about picky! Do they have to use Lexar 80x cards too?

I love both film and CMOS.
As far as the f/1.2 it is less of the speed and more of the effect the giant hunk-o-glass creates. If it came down to it, I could lend out mine for the shoot. And a full frame sensor would rock, but at no point did I request one. I wish I had a full frame but I am stuck in the 1.6 crop factor realm myself.
Try Scott Lindgren. He’s done a lot of photography for the now defunct Velvet Hammer – not that I’m suggesting your wedding will be a burlesque show – but Scott knows how to make people look good. Email me for his cell number – I’m a little flinchy about putting people’s phone numbers up.
I really liked Nanette & Brent’s photos
