For those Westsiders who want to come out & ride for the Earth this Thursday, here’s some info on the UCLA Earth Day ride (as just posted to the Critical Mass list). I’ll be on a plane to London that evening, so unfortunately, the Westside will have to do without me representing on a ride for once.
Details after the jump.
I announced at the last Santa Monica Critical Mass that we were
planning on having an Earth Day Critical Mass @ UCLA. It’s happening
Thursday @ 7pm – bring your Westside envying selves (kidding) out here
and experience the UCLA Velorution. Here are the details:
2nd Annual UCLA Earth Ride:
Thursday April 27th @ 7pm we will meet for a Critical Mass ride in
celebration of Earth Day at the Ackerman Turnaround on UCLA campus.
It should be a great time with an ecletic mix of hardcore bikers and
UCLA students. One of the -famous- SMCM sound systems should be
present. We’ll ride around UCLA campus and Westwood village until
about 9pm when we plan to end the ride at an after party at the Co-Op
at 500 Landfair Avenue. This party will also be a party for the
organizers of other UCLA Earth Day events (taking place on Tuesday and
Wednesday) to celebrate their success – so it should be a fun crowd.
A keg should be present!
Bring you best biking digs to UCLA and celebrate Earth Day in rowdy
For those not familiar with UCLA Campus: In order to get to Ackerman
Turnaround from Wilshire & Westwood head North toward UCLA campus on
Westwood. Continue into UCLA campus past LeConte on Westwood . . .
after three lights you will arrive at a number of permanent bus
shelters in central UCLA campus where Westwood ends and there is a
place for buses and cars to turnaround. You’ve reached Ackerman
turnaround – look for the obnoxious biker folk = that’s us.
