The timing, a little over a week ago, of The LA Times article about Bettie Page was rather notable because there are some related events this week:

Tonight, Dita Von Teese, who besides Ms. Page is probably one of the most recognizable in the world of pinups and burlesque, is at the Virgin Megastore at Hollywood and Highland signing copies of her book Burlesque and the Art of the Teese/Fetish and the Art of the Teese.

Also tonight is a screening of The Notorious Bettie Page followed by a discussion with director Mary Harron and actress Gretchen Mol at the Wadsworth Theatre in Brentwood (info via LAist).

And this weekend is Adultcon (NSFW) at the LA Convention Center (although the stars there are more of pornstar actress than the classic pinup girl variety).
