Urban Scatology

I saw a pretty cool write up in Washington City Paper about poop. Yes, haven’t you wondered what (or who) made that poop?

Though it covered species endemic to DC (doesn’t make mention of mountain lions or coyotes), it does help me to figure out whether that’s a neighbor’s dog/cat that’s been pooping in my yard.

Here’s your urban field guide to poop
. Don’t worry, the images are safe-for-work drawings.

Of course the descriptions of shape and size are pretty good too, maybe not safe for lunch though. The common rat’s is described as, “from the size of a Mike & Ike to as small as a dried-up raisin.”
