Beating the Hollywood Nightlife Traffic

Now that Hollywood is once again hot, it’s the ‘go-to’ destination for clubbers and everyone (it seems) looking for some action at night. Unfortunately, that means gridlock, not to mention the outrageous parking prices….$10 is a deal and $20 is the norm. Super irritating on top of the steep door and drink prices.

Well, some of that’s about to change, cuz councilman Eric Garcetti has just unveiled the new, “Holly Trolley” that will run starting Jan. 12th. It will operate Thursday thru Saturday nights, from 8pm to 4am. For just a buck you can catch the trolley and ride a twelve minute loop that takes you from Hollywood and Highland (where you can park for $6.00 or come in on the subway), then loops around to go south on Cahuenga Boulevard where it hits Sunset Boulevard, Vine Street, Yucca, Ivar, Selma, and then ends up back on Highland. The route includes two MTA Red Line stops (Hollywood & Highland, Hollywood & Vine) and city parking lots at the ArcLight Hollywood Cinemas, Hollywood and Highland, and Cherokee and Wilcox. Kind of cool if you want to hit a bunch of clubs in one night.
