David Lynch speaks on Consciousness Tonight at USC

4:04 pm in Uncategorized by la_heathervescent

I had no idea that David Lynch had a foundation for conscious-based education and peace, but he does. And he’s speaking tonight with John Hagelin and Fred Travis, two PhDs. It looks like it’s going to be about Transcendental Meditation (TM).

This makes me think of a couple trivia questions somewhat related to this topic:

Question 1: What is the name of the Midwest town where Maharishi University is located? (Hint: The Gothic House is nearby.)
Question 2: What is the name of the Maharishi town near the university? (Hint: there are double-vastu homes available.)
Question 3: What celebrity owned a loose-meat sandwich restaurant in a nearby town?
Question 4: What the hell is a loose-meat sandwich?
Question 5: Why the hell does loose-meat sandwiches have with transcendental meditation?

Disclaimer: I do not practice TM. But I will buy you coffee if you can name the nearby town I was exiled in for 10+ years.

only stupid people are breeding

9:13 pm in LA by Wil

What. The. Fuck.

Bail remained at $200,000 Wednesday for a La Mesa woman accused of twice letting her 2-year-old son play on the trolley tracks near downtown, causing two trolley trains to make emergency stops.

What? I’m sorry. Did you just say this woman let her two year old play on the train tracks twice?

Rachel Gaeta, 22, is charged with two counts of child endangerment. She faces up to seven years and four months in prison if convicted.

[. . .]

At Gaeta’s arraignment last Friday, Deputy District Attorney Lucy Weismantel told the judge the defendant had been asked by a trolley security guard at about 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 to watch her 2-year-old, but she still allowed the child to walk on the tracks.

After a train was forced to make an emergency stop near the San Diego Convention Center, the woman was once again warned to keep an eye on the child, the prosecutor said.

Once again warned? Once again warned? Isn’t this the point when someone called protective services and takes the child away from this brain donor?

[. . .]

Gaeta, who has no criminal record, was ordered to have no contact with the 2-year-old and another 4-year-old son, who lives with his father.

Oh, great! She’s got another kid! Okay, we have to create a whole new kind of stupid, because this dipshit just blew the whole curve away.

OC Shooter Asked Something Awful Users Where to Buy Ammo

2:31 pm in Uncategorized by Spencer Cross

How messed up is this…you know the OC kid that put on a crazy suit and went on a shooting rampage last week? Well, here’s a link to a Something Awful thread (with other links to earlier threads) where the users are realizing that it’s the same kid that posted the thread about where to buy heavy buckshot earlier and he actually bought heavy buckshot based on their recommendations and then went out and killed two people. The thread title, Holy Fucking Shit, couldn’t be more apt.

Speaking With The Enemy

1:55 pm in Uncategorized by Will Campbell

Below is a transcript of a telephone call with the governator that took place only in my head, but now that he only wants voters who agree with his bullshit agenda to go out of the polling place next week because a low turnout is the only way he’ll win, this call could very well happen, I swear!

Me [answering the phone]: Hello?
Arnold: Hello dare. Dees eez duh governor of caulifourneeya calling. May I speak wit William Camp Bell?
Me: It’s Campbell, you ass. One word. Like the soup. Mmm Mmm good. Try it again.
Arnold: Camp. Bell. May I speak wit Willi –.
Me: No. Cam and bull together. Cam… bull. Campbell. Once more.
Arnold: No. Dis eez not important. You are Mr. Camp –. You are him?
Me [sighing]: Fine. Yes, I am him. What do you want, you idiot. You ridiculous excuse for a political leader. You illegitimate and usurping novice and despicably opportunistic pretender to the California throne?
Arnold [ignoring me]: I just wanted to tell you that, uh… you are I suppose aware of the election next week?
