“I’m mad as hell”… L.A.-style?

38m.jpgGeorge Clooney, who, by virtue of his delightful outspokenness (not to mention his genius casting choices) has rocketed up my personal list of Coolest Hollywood Celebrities Ever, is doing it again: according to Cynopsis, he’s planning to do a LIVE LIVE LIVE version of the Paddy Chayefsky/Sidney Lumet classic, Network. Ordinarily, I go berserk when I hear about superfluous remakes, but come on: a LIVE version? How cool is that?

My big question (other than which, if any, part he’ll play) is where it’ll be taped: New York, she of the Golden Era of Live TV (and location of the eponymous fictional network itself), or L.A. (pleasepleaseplease).

  1. Sounds totally cool. Then the audience can be all in-studio chanting I’m Mad As Hell And I’m Not Gonna Take It Anymore!

  2. Who get’s to deliver, in my opinion, the best movie line ever?

Peter Finch is dead. Long live Howard Beal.

  3. He did Failsafe live and it rocked. He was also in the 1998 live broadcast of E.R., the first and one of the very few times I ever watched the show. Good for him. We need more good, live TV.
