Bruins stop the Sooners

uclalogo.gif Back in the late ’90s, I would have not been in a day-long meeting on a a nice September day. I’d be watching college football or be at the Rose Bowl for a UCLA football game as part of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band.

I wasn’t even paying attention to sports today instead focusing on the statewide higher education issues in a student leadership role. I was pretty surprised when a UCLA undergrad told me, “UCLA beat Oklahoma 41-24.”

“Stop lying,” I told her. She wasn’t kidding though.

The LA Times headline reads Bruin Defense Stops Peterson and the Sooners. I almost laughed. I don’t remember defense being a strong point for the Bruins, but I’m not mad since they won an important game and upset #21 Oklahoma.

Go Bruins!
