Word is spreading through the 99-seat theater world about a group of 250 displaced people who’ll be arriving here at the end of this week and housed at the Action House at the Dream Center in Echo Park (2301 Bellevue, near Alvarado). Via email yesterday:
These rooms that they will be moving into desperately need some tlc. The organization is looking for some help with painting in particular. It’s a bunch of rooms and they’ll be painting from 8-5 all week. Just swing by if you want to help. You can probably speak to anyone there but the people supervising the effort are Billy Williams and Austin.
There’s no mention of the need for painting help at the Dream Center website and they say their phones are being inundated with calls so they can’t promise they’ll turn around calls in a timely fashion, but the site also says they need general help anyway, so swinging by would likely be fruitful anyway.
And if any of our readers make it over in person and can give an update, that’d be great, too.
