So I had this dream that I posted a mystery photo last week and it was totally ignored except for one person ó Katie ó who out of mercy at the orphaned entry took an incorrect stab at it, bless her. But when life (or your readership) hands you apathy, you make lemonade, right? Work with me, here. My point is I could have wallowed in a hottub of self pity or I could redouble and give you beloved B.la’ers the type of non-Silver Lake located mystery photo you deserve (albeit with the same lame “prize”).
Clue: So I traveled far out of my comfort zone to capture this week’s image and was even stopped by a rogue Homeland Security agent who demanded to know why I was taking pictures of one of my favorite murals located for the past 30 years under a freeway overpass somewhere on the fringes of a shire called Encino in the strange yet familiar land loosely translated to be the Valley Of Fernando The Saint. So I flashed him my Blogging.la media credentials and casually dropped a bag of peanut M&Ms and he told me to hurry up and move along. Click the image to go larger ó and don’t sweat it if this first close-up is no help… it’s not supposed to be. So I’ll be posting additional incrementally zoomed-out images tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, too. Because I’m helpful like that.
Rules: Post a comment correctly identifying what’s pictured and where it’s at and you’ll be entered into the pool from which one winner will be randomly chosen and announced Friday. Don’t have a clue where it is? Poaching from other entrants is encouraged. Bitching about poaching being allowed isn’t. The winner will receive a collector’s edition Tush sticker printed with real ink and made with real adhesive. In the event of no one getting it right, the creator of the most entertaining guess will be hailed victorious at the discretion of yours very truly. In the event the winner doesn’t want my lousy sticker? Bastard.
Additional photos after the jump.
