Brush Fire Burns Near Hollywood Hills Homes
Two City Fire Aerial Units Respond To Blaze

LOS ANGELES — A brush fire burned Tuesday afternoon in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood.

Several homes were near the fire in the Mount Olympus area. The fire burned west of the Hollywood Bowl near Nichols Canyon Road, north of Franklin Avenue.

Smaller spot fires broke out near the blaze. About 25 acres were consumed.

Heavy smoke was visible from the 101 Freeway.

Residents told NBC4 the fire started near a high-tension power line support. [full story]

  1. I saw the smoke, turned on the TV, and realizing how close it was grabbed my camera and ran up to Runyon Canyon.
    Alas, the park rangers had beat me by 2 minutes and closed the gates. Bastards.
