LOS ANGELES — Union Station in downtown Los Angeles was closed to all inbound trains and buses because a “suspicious package” was found Wednesday morning near an escalator at the eastern area of the facility, according to transit officials.

A sheriff’s bomb squad was sent to investigate.

Authorities rendered the package safe. The station reopened at about noon.

  1. That “non-bomb” made me 25 minutes late to jury duty. The whole court had to wait for me. Bleh.

  2. Oh, my God! Not another non-bomb. I wish they would just stop selling those. They’re really disrupting things.
