Major Emergency Brush Fire in West Hills

For my second LAFD post of the evening, here’s some breaking news from the LAFD News & Information Blog:

“Los Angeles Firefighters have just extinguished a brush fire southwest of the intersection of Valley Circle Boulevard and Roscoe Boulevard in West Hills. The fire was reported at 6:02 PDT and extinguished at 7:02 PM PDT.

No injuries have been reported.

Though the fire threatened several single family homes, none was damaged. An estimate of vegetation burned by the fire is still being tabulated. The cause of the fire is under active investigation.

A more formal log entry will update this message later this evening.”

See, this is exactly what I was talking about earlier. It’s amazing that we have a resource like this.

UPDATE: It was started by Fireworks.

  1. Sean, right on.. even though I’m in Boston until tommorrow, I appreciate the fact that there’s a way for us to find out what caused the craziness around the corner or what level of silliness folks like our firefighters must endure.
