Body on the freeway

Heading home from the gallery last night around 11pm Caryn and I took the 110 North through downtown. We barely avoided getting stuck in some huge traffic jam in the right hand exit lanes. Given the time and that the freeway is usually empty we assumed there was some kind of accident. Instead of a pile up of cars we saw flares, and cops, and then cops and flares, and then nothing. This was very confusing until we got to about the 3rd street Exit and in the middle of the road was a body covered with a white sheet. There were no vehicles around to indicate any kind of accident that we could see, which made it that much creepier. Oddly enough this isn’t the first body we’ve seen lying on a road with traffic diverted, it’s not even the first in the last 6 months, but there was something extra erie about this whole thing. Has anyone seen any articles today indicating what might have happened?

  2. A man’s body was found today near the transition road
from the eastbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway to the northbound San Diego
    (405) Freeway in the Mission Hills area, officials said.

  3. And here’s the 110 Info:
A possibly suicidal man killed himself today by jumping
off an overpass onto a freeway collector road in downtown Los Angeles,
    authorities said.
The man jumped onto the collector road near Ninth Street to the northbound
Harbor (110) Freeway at 9:32 p.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer

The man died at the scene, Porter said. It wasn’t immediately clear if a
vehicle struck the man after he hit the pavement.
The collector road was closed to accommodate a Los Angeles Police
Department and CHP investigation, Porter said
