I’ve always had a problem finding something to do on Saturday nights in Hollywood. It’s usually so overcrowded everywhere from all the bridge and tunnelers, tourists and weekend warriors that I usually stay in and save going out for during the week. Well last Saturday I found something that I can handle… good old films projected outside at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary (where 95,000 people are buried). Gates open at 7:00pm, film starts at 8:30pm, it’s ten bucks to get in (that includes parking), you sit outside on the grass (bring a blanket or you’ll have a wet ass), you can bring your own picnic, wine or whatever, the sound system is rad, and they’ve got a dj who plays good shit before and after the movie (homeboy was playing good oldies and even rocked some All Night Radio). Oh, and the movies are usually tits too! Last week they showed “The Bad And The Beautiful” (with Kirk Douglas), which was great! And this coming Saturday is my favorite Hitchcock flick, “North By Northwest”. Sign up for the email list @ http://cinespia.org/ and you’ll get weekly notifactions on what’s playing.
