Silverlake TVs?

Does anyone know anything about these TV’s all over a hill in Silverlake? Wooster Collective just posted this image that Tofer took here in Silverlake and sent into them. Other than the obvious fact it’s a bunch of TV’s on a hillside he doesn’t know much about it, and neither do we. The LA Times called us at sixspace a few weeks back asking if we knew anything about it and still haven’t been able to uncover any details. Do you know anything about it?

  1. All I can tell you is that the concrete pilings dotting the hillside that the TVs sit upon are all that remains of the Pacific Red Car trestle bridge that crossed Fletcher way back in the day.

  2. I don’t know but it reminds me a lot of the comments this artist “fake-it” uses… I think she does the Stay True Clothing stuff also.

I used to see her stuff up in the bay area a lot

  3. I’m not sure where these are, exactly — can you give me cross streets so I can keep an eye out? I thought it was going to be in that area across from the short stop in echo park, but I found I was wrong when I went looking for them this weekend… thanks!

  4. They’re at the corner of Riverside and Flether… directly across Riverside from Rick’s Burgers

  5. Hey Sean, Hopefully better late than never. There’s an article in today’s Times about the TVS. They’re by guerilla artist Tomas Hinds. It’s in the calendar section which means I won’t be able to get to it online because I can’t remember the separate password/ID combo needed. But it’s on page 21 if a print edition’s handy.

  6. I’ve known Tom for over 4 years now, I met him at culinary school, and I just want to say how proud I am of all his success and congrats on all the attention that he’s getting *FINALLY* for all his hard work! Love ya Tom!

    Psycho Killah!
