Oooooo, aaaaaaaah

Was anyone else mesmerized by last night’s thunder and lightning storms or was I the only one up at 3:30 a.m. ooooo-ing and aaaaaah-ing? The thunder claps actually woke me up while the lightning was like a disco ball in my room. I counted eight flashes in less than 30 seconds.

  1. YEs it was great. This morning was a large clap of thunder that sounded like a claymore mine going off. WoW!!!! THunder and lightening in Los ANgeles. Put me to sleep and yes I was oohing and aaahig too.

  2. I was also up at 3am but I was clearing the drains from my garage roof. made me feel like I was the openning scene of a B-movie…

  3. i was up at 3am but was about to go to sleep when i was startled by the noise… of the rain! by my house, it was way louder than the thunder, for about 5 or 10 minutes. it woke my wife up, and we listened to it pound and rage, then stop abruptly. weird.

  4. For me it was the hail on the skylight that had my nose pressed against the cold glass of my patio door. Who knew!? Winter! Here in LA… very cool.

  5. Yeah, it was awesome. I counted the seconds between the lightning flashes and the rolls of thunder, though I don’t remember what the significance of that is supposed to be.

Our 11- and 12-year-olds didn’t get in our bed (they’re too cool for that), but they came and slept on the floor of the den, right by our door. The 2- and 5-year-olds never even woke up.
